BIOIBERICA consolidates catalogue in Iran
With a surface area of 1,648,195 km2 (over three times the size of Spain), Iran is second in size among the Middle East countries, after Saudi Arabia
The country’s strategic importance is increased by the high number of countries with which it shares a border: Armenia, Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan to the north; Turkey and Iraq to the west and Pakistan and Afghanistan to the east; and thanks to its proximity to all the countries of the Arabian peninsula, from which it is only separated by the narrow maritime strip of the Persian Gulf.
The activities of the agricultural sector are quite important in Iran. Although this sector only contributes around 12% of GDP, it still represents almost 25% of the country’s non-oil exports and employs 25% of the working population.
All kinds of climates can be found in Iran: tropical, subtropical, Mediterranean and continental. This has contributed to the existence of a wide diversity of crops throughout the year. However, the scarcity of water and the irregular rainfall in the different regions condition the agricultural activity and its productivity. The irrigation systems are essential in many regions and in recent years the production has increased considerably on irrigated land, although there is still a certain lack of development as regards greenhouses and crop protection systems. The main agricultural provinces are Khorasan, Kuzestan, Fars, Mazandaran, Qazvin and Kermanshah. Bioiberica is present throughout the territory with its range of solutions to combat plant stress.
Over these last two years we have worked closely with our distributor, Gyah Bazr Alvand Corp., achieving a high degree of satisfaction from the application of our products in the fruit tree crops (citrics, pistachio, peaches and apples) and horticulture. Gyah Bazr Alvand Corp. works with the whole of Bioiberica’s catalogue, both the range of Terra-Sorb biostimulants, AminoQuelant deficiency stress correctors and the CeraTrap and Biocebo biological attractants.
The outlook is very positive as an increase in the technological development of the sector is foreseen, consolidating our leadership in the coming years.
