Effect of the Application of Terra-Sorb on Fruit Retention, Development and Quality in Mangos
In certain species and varieties, such as mango, the level of fruit setting is a factor that considerably affects final crop production. This parameter, which is basically regulated by the plant’s own genetics, can be negatively affected by the conditions external to the crop and by the nutritional state of the plant. Amino acids play an important role in plant physiology by regulating several processes. Besides being essential elements of the pollen and the style for correct pollination and fertilization. Furthermore, the application of Terra-Sorb increases absorption and translocation of nutrients, thereby contributing to the plant’s nutrient balance. Another important point is that a positive effect of Terra-Sorb has been observed on fruit development. Higher retention of fruit can have a negative effect on subsequent fruit development; however, in many trials of the product, it has been shown that the increased fruit retention does not take place in detriment to fruit size.
