Pre- and probiotic biostimulants for improving Nutrient Use Efficiency

November 2024
Posters | Terra-Sorb® | Terramin® Pro

The inefficient application of synthetic nitrogen (N) fertilizers has led to significant environmental pollution. Biostimulants offer a promising approach to mitigate issues related to N fertilization. This study aims to evaluate the impact of two biostimulants—a prebiotic and a probiotic—in compensating for deficient N fertilization. Specifically, we examined Terramin® Pro, based on L-α-amino acids and other biomolecules, and Terra Sorb® Symbiotic, combining L-α-amino acids and ...

A symbiotic biostimulant: combining pro- and pre-biotics to face the current Agricultural challenges

July 2024
Posters

Terra-Sorb® symbiotic is a biostimulant containing L-α-amino acids & B. velezensis PH-023 CECT 30677. Isolated from Vélez River mouth in Málaga (Spain), this strain was selected among extremophile bacteria for its great growth capacity in difficult soil conditions for agriculture (high levels of alkalinity & salinity) where correct assimilation of macro and micronutrients by roots is difficult. PH-023 can fix atmospheric N, produces siderophores and phytohormones (auxins...

Soybean resistance against Asian soybean rust potentiated by Optimus®, a novel-induced resistance booster

June 2023
Posters | Optimus®

Asian soybean rust (ASR), caused by Phakopsora pachyrhizi, is a destructive disease affecting soybean production. This study aimed to use a phosphite (30% of phosphorus and 20% of potassium) formulated with L-α-free amino acids (Optimus®, Bioiberica, Spain) referred as induced resistance IR stimulus to reduce ASR symptoms and helping plants to have a better photosynthetic performance during infection process.

Physiological insights into soybean resistance against Phakopsora pachyrhizi infection potentiated by a phosphite combined with free amino acids

May 2022
Posters | Optimus®

Considering the potential of Asian soybean rust (ASR), caused by Phakopsora pachyrhizi, to reduce soybean yield, different control strategies need to be used. This study investigated the potential of using a phosphite (30 and 20% of phosphorus and potassium, respectively) combined with L-α-free amino acids (Optimus®, Bioiberica, Spain) to reduce ASR symptoms and helping the plants to have a better photosynthetic performance during the fungal infection process.
