Bioiberica presents its sustainable solutions at the Acorbat 2024 International Meeting, addressing Challenges and promoting Sustainability in the Banana Industry
Bioiberica - Plant Health has stood out in the recent edition of the XXIV Acorbat Meeting held in Mérida, Mexico, addressing the challenges and promoting sustainability in the banana industry.
The Acorbat Meeting, an emblematic event in the banana sector, brings together producers, exporters, suppliers and industry experts to share knowledge, establish business relationships and explore the latest trends and technologies.
The participation of Bioiberica - Plant Health in Acorbat has been a great opportunity to showcase our outstanding quality and variety of products, and also to highlight the challenges faced by the banana and plantain industry with our initiatives to address them.
Key challenges include climate emergency, which is altering rainfall and temperature patterns, and sustainability, which calls for more responsible and environmentally friendly agricultural practices. Bioiberica is committed to the implementation of sustainable agricultural practices, such as the efficient use of water and energy, waste management and reducing the carbon footprint. We are pleased to announce that we are now certified by Global GAP, demonstrating our commitment to international sustainability standards.
Furthermore, another important challenge is the holistic management of diseases such as Sigatoka, which can seriously affect banana and plantain crops. At Bioiberica we have developed comprehensive Sigatoka management strategies, which include the application of our biostimulants with elicitor effect Terra-Sorb® and SinerJet®-Cu to reduce dependence on chemical products and thus minimize the chemical load and environmental impact.
"Our participation in Acorbat not only seeks to highlight the quality of our products, but also to share our vision of a more sustainable and resilient banana industry", said engineer Josep Mª Cerdà, CamCar Export Manager of Bioiberica. "We are committed to continued innovation and development of agricultural practices that promote the health of the environment and our communities".
The banana industry is essential for food security and economic development in many regions of the world. However, it faces a series of challenges that require a collective and committed response. Bioiberica's participation in the last Acorbat Meeting reflects our commitment to the search for sustainable solutions and our contribution to the future of this vital industry.
