Experience of using Equilibrium® in mandarin
Equilibrium® treatment is indicated to optimize fruit set and quality parameters in several high-value crops. This study shows 2 experiences in California (USA) and with two varieties of mandarin, Page and Murcott, with a similar Equilibrium® biostimulant treatment program.
Trial on Page variety
Nº foliar spray applications: 3 (1st applic. at petal fall; 2nd +28 days after petal fall, 3rd +71 days after petal fall)
Equilibrium® applied at 3L/Ha in a 3-application program resulted in less smaller fruits (33% vs 41%) & more larger size categories (50% vs 42%).
Equilibrium® applied at 3L/Ha in a 3-application program resulted a 24% yield increase when compared with the grower standard. This yield increase came from both more set fruit (17%) and larger fruit (7%).
Putting prices per size category, the Equilibrium® program showed a $1,662 /Acre increase in grower return when compared with grower standard.
Trial on Murcott variety
Nº foliar spray applications: 3 (1st applic. at petal fall; 2nd +30 days after petal fall, 3rd +70 days after petal fall)
Equilibrium® applied at 3L/Ha in a 3-application program resulted in less smaller fruits (12% vs 16%).
Equilibrium® applied at 3L/Ha in a 3-application program resulted a 31% yield increase when compared with the grower standard. The yield increase in this trial came solely from more set fruit (30%) while maintaining size.
Putting prices per size category, the Equilibrium® program showed a $1,015 /Acre increase in grower return when compared with grower standard.
