The objective of the present study consisted of determining the effectiveness of the product Armurox® of BIOIBERICA S.A. in the control of powdery mildew and to evaluate its paper as possible inducer of defenses in plants, using for it the melon-powdery mildew model patho-system. The treatment with Armurox® is able to control the disease through the activation of mechanisms of defense like the reinforcing of cellular walls, the production of reactive oxygen species and the increase in the expression of genes of PR proteins, at the same manner as observed for the described post-haustorial type resistance of cucurbits against P. fusca.
