Bioiberica participated at the International Conference on Area-wide Management of Insect Pests held in Wien, Austria, on 22-26 May, 2017. This conference, hosted by the United Nations’ Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), put the focus on the use of nuclear technology to sterilize insects, as well as on other control techniques (which included the biological attractants developed by Bioberica), to reduce pest pressure.
At the congress, Bioberica’s R&D department presented two posters which further confirmed the reliability and efficacy of Bioiberica’s range of attractants. The first poster proved that Cera Trap® has the same or better efficacy that all other insecticide-based attractants available on the market, with the added advantage of being completely eco-friendly-it doesn’t contain a single drop of insecticide. The second poster confirmed the improved results of the new Suzukii Trap® formulation, “Maxcaptures”, which improves the number of captures of the earlier formulation; thus becoming one of the better attractants in the market. It has the added advantages of capturing a higher percentage of females and that of being more host-specific (it captures a smaller percentage of non-D. Suzukii flies).
