Herbicides commonly used in agriculture to control weeds often cause negative effects on crops. On the other hand, biostimulants have the ability to increase tolerance to a series of abiotic stresses, but there is very limited information on their effects on plants stressed by herbicides. With the objective of verifying whether the application of the biostimulant Terra-Sorb®, based on L-α-amino acids, is capable of reducing the phytotoxicity produced by a herbicide based on Imazamox, as well as elucidating its mode of action, a study was carried out. cultivation chamber test on sunflower plants. Plants were treated with Pulsar® 40 (4% Imazamox) alone and in combination with Terra-Sorb®. The results show that plants treated with the herbicide in combination with Terra-Sorb® had greater growth, their photosynthetic activity was protected and they did not suffer oxidative stress.
Additionally, field efficacy trials were carried out in extensive crops (corn, wheat, soybeans and sunflower) comparing the productive performance of the application of the herbicide alone in comparison with the application combined with the biostimulant. In all cases the productive yield (Kg/Ha) with the biostimulant was statistically higher compared to the application of the herbicide alone.
Modern agriculture faces significant challenges, including soil degradation, loss of biodiversity and dependence on chemical fertilizers. In this context, regenerative agriculture has emerged as a promising approach to restore soil health, improve biodiversity and promote sustainable agricultural practices. Within this framework, biostimulants play a crucial role in enhancing plant productivity and the resilience of agricultural ecosystems.
Bioiberica - Plant Health has stood out in the recent edition of the XXIV Acorbat Meeting held in Mérida, Mexico, addressing the challenges and promoting sustainability in the banana industry.
The Acorbat Meeting, an emblematic event in the banana sector, brings together producers, exporters, suppliers and industry experts to share knowledge, establish business relationships and explore the latest trends and technologies.
The objectives set by the European Commission, the demands set by society and large distribution groups, the structural scarcity of water for irrigation and its contamination due to the abusive use of synthetic nitrogen fertilizers, as well as the fluctuations in the costs of These production factors, due to geopolitical causes, make it essential to produce products that improve the health of the soil as a medium in which crops are sustained and nourished, and that make the rhizosphere an area where trees maximize the assimilation of water and nutrients for crop production. abundant despite the reduction in contributions of traditional fertilizers. Bioiberica's new microbial biostimulant, Terra-Sorb® SymBiotic, responds to the pressure on the farmer to produce more with less.
Leading the way in agricultural innovation, Bioiberica actively participates by presenting its Biostimulant ingredients
At Plant Health we contribute to the development of agriculture, offering sustainable solutions to beat crop stress, enhancing their yield, and providing efficient and competitive solutions for the farmer with our biostimulants, and all our biosolutions.
