Results:
Total Mean dry weight (shell & kernel):
Equilibrium Almond Tree 2
The 2 applications of Equilibrium® in Pre-flowering & Post-flowering (T4) and the 3 applications in Pre-flowering, Post-flowering & Bone hardening (T7) provide an increase of 17% & 20% respectively to the Total dry weight (shell + kernel) from kernel cv. Penta.

Mean kernel weight:
Equilibrium Almond Tree 3
The 2 applications of Equilibrium® in Pre-flowering & Post-flowering (T4) and the 3 applications in Pre-flowering, Post-flowering & stone hardening (T7) provide an increase of 14% & 18% respectively to the average kernel weight cv. Penta, a variety characterized by a low kernel weight.

Remote sensing: NDVI index tracking
Equilibrium Almond Tree 4
The vigor index (NDVI) remains lower in the treatment with Equilibrium®, which is consistent with the higher proportion of future almonds.

Conclusions:

  • For the trial on the Penta variety of almond trees over 2 seasons and in 5 locations using different cultivation systems (rainfed/non-irrigated, irrigated, and high density), it has been seen that the best treatments with Equilibrium® are obtained with 2 and 3 applications of the biostimulant at the Pre-flowering, Post-flowering, and Pit hardening (T7) stages, providing an 18% increase in kernel weight.
  • Also, priority is given to the early application (2 applications in pre-flowering and post-flowering – T4) of Equilibrium®, in the variety cv. Penta, which typically has a low seed weight.
